sarah & wilson are married!

By | Weddings | No Comments

saturday morning we woke up smiling. we knew the day ahead was going to take us to some of our most cherished places and we knew that sarah & wilson would have a wedding day full of sweetness and laughter. how blessed we are! i finished my once-a-week hair and makeup routine (weekdays are really chill around here… ;)) and we stopped in at the little coffee shop down the street before heading to the classic city- athens, georgia. we arrived early to scout locations for sarah & wilson’s couple photos and also to wander around the gardens where we celebrated our own marriage almost 5 years ago! when it was time, matt and i split up to capture the finishing touches of the getting ready process before we met back again for sarah & wilson’s sweet first look. as you’ll see, sarah surprised wilson with a stunning guitar and they spent a few quiet moments before their ceremony just sitting together while wilson played and sarah just relaxed and smiled. it was such a naturally beautiful and peaceful time for them to refocus on one another and the love they share. i really admire the way these two were able to shut out the bustle of the day and soak up every moment they were able to spend together. they make me smile. :)

i really love this image matt captured of the guys relaxing before walking down the aisle:

after the ceremony we grabbed a few more quick images of the two of them together before joining the party in the conservatory!

this next image is matt’s favorite ;)

sarah & wilson, thank you so much for allowing us to capture such a beautiful day! we really enjoyed being part of your celebration and re-living our own at the same time- thank you! :) we wish you guys the best!

sheri & brad are engaged!

when sheri & brad met us for dinner a few months ago, we immediately realized there was something special about them. these two radiate life- i’m going to try to describe that more fully but i’m not sure i’ll succeed. their eyes sparkle, they speak passionately, they live intentionally- they’re inspiring. we talked with them about everything from gardening to pets to cooking and we found ourselves seeking their opinions on these things. they are so open and down to earth (and really knowledgable!), i had to check myself because i realized i kept asking questions about anything and everything not at all related to their wedding. ;)

i mean, who wouldn’t want to be this stunning, relaxed and blissfully happy!?

for their engagement images, sheri & brad decided to take us to a place very special to them- lake lanier. there, their sailboat is docked and the quiet water gleams. the afternoon we spent with them was perfect, ending in a beautiful sunset sail and a twilight dinner shared by all. we really are so blessed to have sweet clients like sheri & brad!

sheri & brad, thank you again for sharing such a beautiful evening with us! we really enjoyed getting to know you better and photographing you in this sweet spot. we can’t wait for your wedding! :)

kristen & ben are married!

we talk to lots of couples who are surprised to find themselves a little overwhelmed by the wedding planning process. truthfully, even when we were planning our own wedding matt & i had a few conversations about dropping everything and eloping! looking back, we’ve decided just a couple of things should always be considered: what is important to you as a couple about your wedding day and what would make your day most enjoyable and memorable for you and those you love. for some people that looks like a big dance party celebration in the city, for some that looks like a casual, southern affair in a converted barn and for most, i’d say the vision falls somewhere in the middle. either way, realizing what is perfect for your wedding day goes a long way towards defining your enjoyment and memories of your wedding. kristen & ben are the perfect example of a couple whose wedding was built around what would make them the most comfortable and relaxed on their wedding day. they decided to keep their guest list very intimate and their schedule liquid and open. their wedding and reception was held on the porch of a local restaurant, where friends and family gathered to sip cocktails and catch up over lunch. the atmosphere was calm and casual and kristen & ben were able to sit back and chat with their family and friends in a natural and easy way. such a perfect way for kristen & ben to spend their reception! :)

in keeping with the theme of family, kristen’s grandfather preformed the ceremony- his message to the couple was so sweet:

kristen & ben, thank you so much for having us capture your wedding day. we wish you the very best!
