carolyn & trae are married!

as matt and i drove to carolyn’s mom’s home saturday morning we couldn’t help but slow down to admire the beautiful street leading to her home! it was lined with huge oaks providing a cool speckled shade- we knew we’d find a way to include this in her shots! but as we got further and further into carolyn & trae’s wedding day we were overwhelmed by so much other beauty we were almost giddy! carolyn made our day by taking time not only for some bridal portraits but also by seeing trae before the ceremony and giving us a chunk of time for couple portraits as well! but, per usual, i’m waaay ahead of myself- let’s start with a few getting ready shots! i was pretty obsessed with the pretty ruffles on carolyn’s dress so i took entirely too many pictures of it, haha, here are my faves:

it should be said that carolyn and trae are about the classiest couple ever! i love their natural grace and style- it really shows in every area of their wedding- even carolyn’s beautifully woven hair and sophisticated yet natural makeup- she’s just so awesome!

…and trae isn’t too bad himself! ;) i love these shots matt grabbed of the finishing touches of trae getting ready to meet carolyn to relax and take a few couple portraits!

warning! we were not so successful and narrowing down our favorite portraits. matt had some time before he started shooting to scope out the locations carolyn had mentioned AND they set aside plenty of time for us to get creative! AND AND, they’re basically models. after rocking their engagement session– they made this seem like it was a piece of cake! location number one- right outside carolyn’s house! it was matt’s vision from the beginning of the day and it really was perfect:

carolyn & trae took us down to a park to finish their portraits and we had a great time with the diversity of the landscape- and the perfectly golden sun…sigh….love…:

when we arrived back at the church emotions were starting to run a little higher as the beauty of what was about to happen started to dawn on everyone. this series of carolyn and her sister happened just before they walked down the aisle- everyone was so excited and the tears were as big as the smiles- such a sweet moment!

onto the reception! everything was beautiful and classic and carolyn & trae were the perfect centerpiece for the evening!

carolyn & trae, thank you guys so so much for asking us to be part of your incredible wedding! you guys seem so at ease and in love with one another and with life, we wish you both the very best!

kyle & chris are married!

ooooh kyle, seriously beautiful, 100% stylish and creative- the whole package! i KNOW you remember their engagement session– one of the most unique we’ve done and we love them for that. it has to be assumed that anyone who puts so much care and love into an engagement shoot will do the same for her wedding and kyle did not disappoint! so many amazing details about kyle’s wedding made me wish i had her designing my wedding! from chelsea’s perfect creations for invitations and hairpieces to the stunning bridesmaid dresses (woah, have i ever said that before!?) to her perfectly perched birdcage veil, everything about kyles wedding was not an inch short of absolutely lovely! i took more pictures at this wedding than i ever have before just to try to document all of the love kyle infused into her day- she’s not an easy one to keep up with but i had an awesome day doing my best. AND, oh yea, she had a photobooth! the girl does everything right, oh yes.

kyle’s hair and makeup was created by the immensely talented raney o’keefe, ladies, if you wanna look this good, you know who to call! :)

kyle & chris met at their reception site before the ceremony for a few portraits and a little down time to reabsorb what the day was all about. chris was so taken with his bride that he spun her around to get a better look- the bridal party was watching from a few yards away but their squeals over how sweet the moment was didn’t go unnoticed- it was just perfect!

kyle wanted to include these leaves she saved (details! i tell ya!) in a few of her portraits just as a reminder of the beautiful season for years to come. there was definitely an element of nature in so many of her details, i love how this image will fit together with her decor images from her reception!

we arrived back at the reception site just as the sky was deepening behind the city. it was so beautiful that after taking a few images exposed for them we decided to grab a flash and capture the environment! matt and i are both so happy with these portraits- some of our most favorite we’ve ever taken!

once we were inside for the reception we did out best to melt into the background and capture the guests and the details. the photobooth was up and running and our super amazing assistants were rockin it! we had such a blast at this reception and everything was just beautiful- here are just a few highlights!

kyle & chris, no idea where to begin with you guys! bottom line, you are completely perfect together and we feel so blessed to have been around to capture everything that makes you click. you had a stunning wedding and we can’t thank you enough for including us- honestly, we had a blast! we wish you both the best for years to come!

lauren & matt are married!

since first meeting lauren we’ve been excited for her wedding to arrive- she was one of the first people to book us when we started the biz and she trusted us completely to capture the biggest day of her life- WOW! if not for amazing couples like lauren & matt we would not be where we are today- and that is just a tiny part of why we were so pumped when their wedding finally arrived! since lauren started her wedding planning so far in advance we had lots of time to become great friends; although once you meet her for the first time you feel like you’ve known her forever! when we met up with them at lauren’s family farm for their engagement pics– of course we were going to grab dinner with them afterward- and that only gave us more time to fall in love with this incredible couple. we are blessed to know them!

their wedding day dawned rainy and unseasonably cold so starting at 5am lauren and her family began instituting the rain plan they never dreamed would be put into action. they had landscaped and pruned their beautiful farm to perfection but when the rain hit it was time to move everything inside their home. can you even imagine a huge reception inside your own home!? i absolutely cannot. the stress must have been crazy as they pushed furniture into bedrooms and cleared surfaces for flowers. this should just give you a little taste of how magical lauren and her family are- they made it happen in no time and with big smiles and only a few quick glistening tears. what an amazing family!

while lauren and her mom finished up the last bit of decor in the house and katie completed their hair and makeup, i took her stunning bouquet outside for a few shots. twigs did a beautiful job with the flowers and they complimented the existing design elements perfectly- including this cat? ;)

meanwhile, matt spent his morning at lauren & matt’s new (old) house before heading to a little downtown close by for some portraits with the gents:

even though it was freezing with hints of mist in the air, lauren and her ladies were up for a few shots outside at the farm. yeay! we ignored the way our heels dug into the soft wet ground- we did stay pretty close to the house to shoot but it was awesome that we were able to capture the natural environment even if just for a few portraits!

lauren & matt were not about to let the cold get in the way of their pictures together so we parked on the side of the long driveway leading to lauren’s house and took these next few images. how amazing must it be to wake up in such a beautiful place every day? just, wow:

lauren’s details and personal touches made me really excited- i love her clean, natural, casual style and we weren’t about to let her post go by without sharing a few of our favorite elements!

the foyer became the dance floor when the wedding was moved indoors and it worked out perfectly! all of the guests were able to surround them as they enjoyed their first dance as a new, complete, little family!:
