Laura & Mahesh’s Wedding at the Foundry Puritan Mill

By | Weddings | One Comment

I will be honest, I am a bit at a loss for where to start with Laura & Mahesh’s wedding day- there was just so much goodness all around all day! Sitting here reminiscing about their wedding day, what I remember most is just the overall vibrancy of every moment. It wasn’t just the colors and the events, it was the people. The deep joy in Laura & Mahesh was reflected in their friends and family who traveled from near and far to celebrate their wedding day. Though the day was longer than most (two full ceremonies!), the energy and fun only grew as the day progressed- culminating in a beautiful reception celebration full of fun and happiness and a touch of silliness.

Our day started with the finishing touches before their hindu ceremony. I love how involved family and friends are in hindu ceremonies- it really draws everyone in to the celebration.

Mahesh and his sweet mom, I really love this image.

After the ceremony ended, Laura & Mahesh disappeared to change for the Jewish ceremony while their guests lounged around their venue enjoying lunch, chatting in the courtyard and relaxing in the warm sun. It really was the most perfect early spring day.

By the time we arrived back at the venue, it had been transformed. One of laura’s very best friends officiated this ceremony and though it was short and sweet it was so heartfelt and warm.

These guys:

Laura & Mahesh, what a joy to celebrate with you and your friends and family- it was a beautiful day! Looking forward to running into you two soon! :)

alison & jonathan are married!

literally these two met at while working at a summer camp, which i think is pretty romantic. they both decided to retreat to the mountains of north carolina and devote their whole summer to investing in excited little kids with more energy than puppies. they spent their days playing sports and singing/chanting/yelling their passionate tribal allegiance. but one day a week, they cleaned up, got dressed and headed out for a day off. this one (much anticipated) day of the week is where alison & jonathan’s relationship began. at least, it’s where the seed was planted. summer came to a close and all the counselors headed back to their real lives. alison & jonathan parted like everyone else. twelve years passed.

alison & jonathan reconnected and their relationship quickly grew and blossomed. they realized they had found in one another not just a best friend but a soulmate. before most even knew what was happening, alison & jonathan were engaged and planning a sweet, intimate wedding in the florida keys. we were thrilled to find ourselves available for their celebration- after all, the very same camp that introduced them is part of our story as well. we didn’t know them well in those days but our shared experiences make us feel like we understand a little bit of their love. :)

what a perfect day it was to celebrate these two! matt photographed their day by himself- his careful attention to the details that would have meant so much to me to capture, never ceases to impress me.

after their ceremony, guests followed the beach to board a catamaran for a breezy, dreamy, golden cocktail hour at sea.

they returned to sunset key for toasts, dinner and dancing.

alison & jonathan, congratulations! we are so very happy for you and we wish you the very best!
