i cannot lie, i’ve been excited about this shoot ever since we scheduled it eight months ago. yes, i’ve been consistently excited for that long! that should give you a small glimpse into how awesome this couple is…
when we first met lauren and her parents for coffee to get to know them and answer some questions we could tell immediately that lauren was our ideal bride. she was relaxed but so excited to get married and passionate about life and her fiance, matt. we couldn’t ask for more! we left the meeting pumped about scheduling their engagement pics so we could meet matt- what kind of guy snags an incredible girl like lauren? we wanted to know him.
when we finally got to hang out with them this past weekend we had a great time. we realized quickly how perfect lauren and matt are together, it must be clear to anyone who spends more than one second with them. they are kind to one another, they make each other laugh and they just understand each other; it’s inspiring. we met them at lauren’s home to wander around her property for the shoot and oh my gosh i think this is the best location ever! red barns, old barns, fields, fences, trees, a pond, docks, ahhhh…basically matt and i want to move in with them! we chatted and laughed and made pictures until the sun set; finally heading out for some delish pizza when it was all over. lauren and i shared mushroom, feta, banana pepper and pepperoni because we both like equally gross sounding combinations of food. it was perfect. we love our job.

we love shooting backlit images but this sky was just too amazing not to turn around and shoot with the sun for a few:

i love the intimacy in this image:

we totally thought it was a great idea when they mentioned fishing! they explained to us how there were a total of two fish in the whole pond so we’d just have to be satisfied taking images of them attempting to catch them. they only fished for about five minutes and each caught one! it was crazy. being engaged must be good luck.
