lucy & grant are engaged!

what a beautiful saturday we had in athens! the weather was unbelievably perfect, the company was outstanding, and the mood was playful. after grabbing some lunch with our close friends and fellow photographers, andrew and jaynah morgan, we headed to the 40 watt to meet grant and lucy. they arrived full of energy and we were off to explore their beloved city! lucy and grant cracked each other (and us!) up all afternoon, dancing, whispering, and goofing off. here are a few of our favorite pictures from the day:

this pic was taken in front of last resort, where grant and lucy had their first date!

for those of you familiar with athens, yes this is a church pew in the middle of clayton street. with matt involved who can be surprised?

thank you so much grant and lucy for an amazing day and an incredible shoot! i really hope we see you again soon, say, sooner than may 31st?! you two are awesome individuals and together you are one dynamite couple! can’t wait for you guys to get settled in atlanta!

hannah and matt’s gallery is up! check it out :)

so remember how nervous i was about meeting up with fellow photographers dan and anne almasy? well, i had no reason to be at all! fyi, i did take a few notes but i think i was kinda cool about it – maybe? either way, we had an awesome afternoon with them and though we mostly talked photography, albums, and equipment, we definitely made some new friends in the process. thanks so much guys! for fun, here is a pic that anne took at the end of our visit; as a photographer it’s surprisingly weird to be on the other side of the lens!

matt and i are excited to be shooting in athens this weekend so look out for new engagement pics soon! we’ll be meeting up with grant and lucy (friends of ours from college) to document just how amazing these two really are. you can trust me here, they are super fun and we cannot wait to capture it! see you guys soon!

hannah & matt are engaged!

hannah’s from georgia, matt’s from michigan, they met in colorado, had their first date in new york and will have their wedding this spring in georgia before moving to texas, woah, right?! these two are the picture of patience and perseverance! their story unfolded on our drive to a little mountain cabin for engagement pictures this past saturday. here are a few of our faves:

every once in a while matt and i will see a shot we want to take in black and white. since we shoot digitally, we don’t have to worry about pulling out another camera with different film – we go ahead and shoot the image in color and pull out the hues when we get home. these turned out as beautiful as we’d hoped, how cute are these two lovebirds?!

the area surrounding the cabin was beautiful but we could only chase the quickly fading light for so long before we moved to shoot inside:

we were all starving when it was over and headed out to grab some mexican food. hannah and matt are such a transparent couple; we really enjoyed talking about just everything with them!

thank you hannah and matt, we had a great time and we are really looking forward to may 10th!
