last saturday we had the pleasure of capturing angelyn & michael’s wedding. everything came together in a beautiful way- from the smiles to the tears to the bright sun overhead, everything was perfect. the ladies started the day with a sweet bridal brunch- sharing memories over fresh waffles topped with blueberry syrup, whipped cream and chopped pecans. they enjoyed their brunch on angelyn’s family’s china- cut their waffles with the family flatware and sipped ina garten’s punch from family glassware. it was a perfectly relaxed way to start her wedding day- surrounded by friends, family and whipped cream- her favorite. :)

when it came time to start getting ready everyone’s energy level seemed to boost- i guess after enjoying those waffles the sugar was bound to start setting in! between curling irons, hairspray and lip gloss the ladies were ready in no time- seriously, i was impressed at how quickly everyone was ready to jump in a car and head to the church!

then it was time to get dressed. angelyn’s grandmother carefully fastened her pearls around her neck as proud as any grandmother ever has been!

while the ladies finished up- matt had the guys outside exploring the grounds of the church for a few portraits, we liked this one the best:

i love this image of angelyn between her two grandmothers:

the time to walk down the aisle came quickly- here, angelyn and her dad pause just before they started their walk:

we were so excited that angelyn & michael made time for a few creative/relaxed portraits with us after the ceremony! we took a few strides across the parking lot and found a perfect little patch of grass to work with. here are a few of our faves:

then it was back inside for the reception! they started things off with a slideshow of images of them since birth- which usually means for lots of laughter! as the slideshow neared the time when angelyn & michael met it was sweet to see the happiness on the faces of the guests- clearly everyone was proud to be there, supporting their marriage. here is michael’s mom during the slideshow:

one of michael’s groomsmen during the blessing for the food:

toasts were given in honor of the couple and this moment was one of our faves:

after everyone had eaten angelyn and michael greeted each of their guests- catching up with old friends and hugging family members they had not seen in quite a while.

when it was nearing time for angelyn & michael to leave, the guests took handfuls of dried lavender from metal pails to toss as the new couple made their way to their car. they drove off in a storm of lavender and as the scent lingered in the air so did the grins of their guests.

angelyn & michael, thank you so much for including us in your wedding day. we are pumped to see what excitement the coming years bring for you guys as you look to make the move overseas. we wish you both the best, thank you again!
