hannah and matt’s gallery is up! check it out :)

so remember how nervous i was about meeting up with fellow photographers dan and anne almasy? well, i had no reason to be at all! fyi, i did take a few notes but i think i was kinda cool about it – maybe? either way, we had an awesome afternoon with them and though we mostly talked photography, albums, and equipment, we definitely made some new friends in the process. thanks so much guys! for fun, here is a pic that anne took at the end of our visit; as a photographer it’s surprisingly weird to be on the other side of the lens!

matt and i are excited to be shooting in athens this weekend so look out for new engagement pics soon! we’ll be meeting up with grant and lucy (friends of ours from college) to document just how amazing these two really are. you can trust me here, they are super fun and we cannot wait to capture it! see you guys soon!

i hope you all had a wonderful valentine’s day! a day full of pink and chocolate isn’t the mattaltmix style, so vday at our house was filled with quality time and excellent food, my two primary love languages. my baby just knows me oh so well!

speaking of love, we’re excited to finally have that awesome engagement session we posted about here. hannah’s finacee, matt, will fly in from texas on saturday and we’ll be meeting up with them in griffin, ga later that day. after just missing meeting them a few weeks ago, we couldn’t be more anxious to meet them now! stay tuned for pics!

i have news! first, as a photographer (and girl), i keep up with many photography (and fashion :)) blogs. my rss feed has exactly 12 blogs on it, split evenly between photography and fashion. now, i have news! maybe it was my religious reading and commenting on their blog (thank you, rss) or maybe it was our images (fingers crossed!) but either way anne almasy of almasy wedding photojournalism shot me an email and we’re meeting with them on sunday! we’re very excited and equally as nervous to show up at their studio to sip coffee and chat; will it be too nerdy if i take notes…?!

confession

welcome to my world:

i love to cook. this was going to come out at some point, so here it is. now, you’re might be wondering, why is this a “confession” to admit? <- is not the confession, this is -> i waste more time than anyone i know looking at recipes online. i decide on a main ingredient, google it, click every link on the results page and read them all. from there i regoogle, reclick, and read again. i then combine around 4 recipes, and make up my own. at this point my confession gets worse, and my cheeks (which i really hate to call attention to) get pinker. there is a bit of an unspoken rule at our dinner table, after one bite matt has to say if he loves it or likes it (he never dislikes anything, thank goodness!). this splits us two ways: 1. he likes it, i exclaim, ‘i made it up!’ 2. he pauses, i exclaim, ‘i based this on someone else’s recipe!’ what this says about me, i don’t know, but i feel much better with it out in the open…

in other news, i’m excited to meet my friend bonnie in person this weekend, haha! since they first decided we were shooting their wedding, bonnie and i sent tons of messages and i really do forget sometimes we’ve never met! i love that though, we will all be relaxed and comfortable shooting this weekend. bonnie’s older sister, becky and i keep in touch as well (she actually referred us to bonnie), she described bonnie to me as ‘martha stewart’ so now i think that maybe i should delete my previous paragraph…but i think she’ll understand. anyway, check back for some engagement pics soon!
