we used to only have one mode of transportation, but now we have two! after scouring craigslist, kate and i finally found a rocking tandem to pedal ourselves around the city… need some groceries? no problem. a quick run to the post office? maybe i’ll make quick work of it with a solo run (although i don’t even know if it’s allowed or even possible to ride a tandem by yourself, plus that really defeats the purpose of a tandem anyhow). pictures begin now:
awwwesome. we found that it was extremely tough to get action shots of ourselves while riding, but we’ll find a way- just wait.
we had a great wedding this past weekend and a killer engagement session so check back soon for those!
oh.my.gosh. have you updated to itunes 8 yet? if not, stop reading right this second and make that happen! you need the new genius feature; it’s life-altering. well, it is for us because we keep itunes rolling almost 24 hours a day around here. because of this, we usually take about ten minutes every hour or so to decide what to listen to next- that means we spend about 2.5 hours a day surfing our music libraries. well, no longer! thanks to itunes 8 we can click on one song we’re in the mood to listen to, click the new genius icon and blink twice as a beautiful and relevant 100 song playlist (yes that’s, like, 6 hours!) is created from our personal library right before our eyes. and you’ve just saved hours of contemplation and stress. or maybe you’re not as insane as me and picking what music to listen to next doesn’t stress you out; in this case you’ve still saved time and listened to a few songs you hadn’t thought of in a while. it’s a win/win. check it out!
in other news, we might have found our tandem! we’re leaving in 30 seconds to drive to gainesville to check it out, sounds pretty serious, eh? i’ll keep you posted via twitter, so exciting!
the summer after my freshman year of college my hair went from black & white streaks with a little blue, to orange, to greyish, to dark brown- all mostly by accident. i was pretty fearless when it came to trying new things and my locks suffered. i’d get an idea, try it on myself -and whoever else was around, i owe some apologies- spend a few days trying to fix it- the cycle never ended.
until one day matt put his foot down. after kindly suggesting i wouldn’t look my best bald -and comforting me after i took it personally- he convinced me to shake on not dying my hair for an entire year. after a few months i got used to the idea that i was going to have boring -mousey brown sorta curly but mostly not- hair. i’d cut it periodically but usually just wore it up and ignored it.
no longer. it’s time for a change. no matter that with the thought of dye, anxiety creeps in. with matt’s support i’ve started looking around for ideas and rekindling my old creativity- but matt says we should pay a professional, we’ll see. anyway, here is a little inspiration board i put together this afternoon:
i want to be able to rock the professional hair as needed but for everyday it needs to be fun. low maintenance. interesting. matt questioned me about the purple but if it’s in the right areas i’ll be able to hide it as needed- i think he’s convinced. anyway, what have you done? what would you never do again? i guess i’m asking for suggestions. i don’t want to be bald!*
