mary katherine & nick are engaged!

mary katherine & nick met across a bar. nick was a bartender and mary katherine was, well, his boss. neither was too thrilled about that situation and the days passed rather uncomfortably as they tried to figure one another out. then, in an instant, during a brief conversation about astronomy of all things, everything clicked and they allowed themselves to embrace the relationship they were meant to share. i can’t help but smile thinking about their story because they are so obviously in love now, it’s hard to imagine them ever feeling unsure about one another!

in keeping with the theme of their story, mary katherine & nick decided to have their engagement photos taken in a vineyard. we got more and more excited as we neared their destination- driving out of the city and into the rolling hills and thick forests of north georgia. when we arrived at montaluce winery, we couldn’t wait to get started! or, actually, we could- and we enjoyed a lovely tasting with mary katherine & nick before we got started!

kristine & michael are engaged!

we really love how much of our business comes from referrals. it’s not only flattering but it also usually means our new couples are already familiar with our style and ready to trust us behind the camera. so, THANK YOU to all of our awesome couples who are spreading the word! and a special thanks to melissa & thea (who are getting married tomorrow!!) for telling sweet kristine & michael about us!

after exchanging a few phone calls and emails with kristine, we decided on a date, rescheduled due to thunderstorms, decided on another date and finally met them! they were open to many different styles when it came to their location so we chose to shoot in grant park. we knew there would be lots of opportunities for very different settings and we always love shooting variety within a single session. luckily, they were totally cool with a little extra walking and together we discovered some great new spots! one of the many things we love about atlanta- endless nooks to explore! anyway, kristine helped michael shake off his nerves and before we knew it we’d been shooting for two hours and i had filled up my card- oops! ;) we had so many favorites from their shoot- here are just a few:

stephanie & patrick are engaged!

hello, JUNE!? i’m not sure what really happened in may- it’s mostly just a blur when i look back- but a good blur, you know? what i do know happened in may is TONS of shoots! we’re a few paces behind where we’d like to be right now but we’re (um, I’M) trying not to let that spiral towards a little breakdown. because really, when i step back and look through the images and remember our sweet couples, there is no way i’d rather spend the spring than surrounded by love!

so, now that we’ve all gone through my little morning pep talk, together, let me introduce you to two people i’ve been excited for you to meet for a long time- stephanie & patrick!

i was trying to remember back over the last four years to get this number right (and i could still be wrong) and i think stephanie & patrick have attended more weddings that we’ve shot than any other single couple! pretty sure we’ve seen their smiling faces at, at least 4, if not 5 weddings we’ve shot since we started this business. bottom line, we are so excited it’s their turn this time! these two are such a joy to be around- they are goofy, full of laughter and big fans of cuddling- a wonderful combination! we met them in athens and made it our goal to capture north campus in a new and exciting way- it was so fun!

we started the afternoon with a little trip to the founder’s garden:
