margaret & adam are married!

i’ve known margaret for at least 12 years- maybe longer- and although i can’t remember the very first time i met her, she’s always stood out in my mind as one of the strongest women i know. she’s fiercely loyal, deeply caring and always ready with a witty quip that will never fail to elicit laughter or an ‘amen!’ she’s one of those people that keeps you on your toes- i can never guess what she’ll be up to next- in the last couple of years alone she’s become an inspiration to many as she’s jumped head first into running and working out, she’s worked tirelessly to complete her doula training so that she can encourage and support families during birth, and most importantly, she and adam have grown into a beautiful family and decided to get married. just beautiful. :) though i don’t know him quite as well, adam seems to be the perfect partner for margaret in every way. they match each other wit for wit and their relationship is full of laughter and the sly smiles that come with inside jokes and a deep understanding of the other. adam is a multitalented musician, producer and father and it’s so sweet to see margaret swoon when he’s around- she’s clearly smitten. capturing their wedding was such a joy!

margaret’s mom and best friend, emily, never left her side- it was so sweet and intimate to spend my time with just the three of them as they relaxed together before the ceremony.

meanwhile, matt was hanging out with adam as he helped his son, paul, finish getting ready- i love the tenderness in these images.

when you’re music lovers like margaret & adam, you call on awesome bands like ruby velle and the soulphonics and blackfoot gypsies and dance the night away!

margaret & adam’s wedding took place during one of the largest music festivals of the year- jazzfest. when they found out they chose to think this was the perfect setting for their wedding rather than feel stressed- love them for that! it ended up being the most perfect atlanta day full of people having a good time with friends and family and everyone enjoying the music together- so very margaret & adam. :)

mmtm & adam, thank you both so much for including us in this celebration- capturing every moment was a joy! we wish you the very best!

ashley & josh are engaged!

when matt & i meet up with couples we always love to hear about what they do- what makes them tick- be it their jobs, their hobbies or their interests. it’s during these conversations that matt & i often find ourselves learning about so many interesting things about people’s lives that are often so different from our own. when we first met ashley & josh, we were momentarily caught off-guard because we just found ourselves saying, ‘me too!’ ‘us too!’ ‘totally agree, YES!’ as they described their shared love of good food, carefully crafted cocktails and photography. in these two we truly found kindred spirits- thankfully we turned the conversation to photography eventually or the whole meeting could have just been about bourbon. ;) ashley & josh have such an energy between them- they have such a good time together and their adventurous spirits complement one another perfectly.

ashley & josh picked this amazing location for their shoot- we love it when locations mean something to the couple’s relationship and it’s doubly great when it’s a photographer’s dream spot. good call, ashley & josh! we loved exploring with you two!

ashley & josh, thank you so much for spending an afternoon trespassing with us- you two are awesome! looking forward to your wedding! :)

betsy & fletch are married!

matt and i first met betsy & fletch at one of our favorite spots on atlanta’s westside, jct bar. we arrived early, like we usually try to do, to make sure there was a table available. we chatted about who knows what- mostly because during that time we’re both keeping one eye on all doors for a couple to enter who looks like they are looking for someone else. which, btw, has resulted in us almost introducing ourselves to many couples just scanning the room for a free table for their post work happy hour- embarrassing. ;)  anyway, betsy & fletch arrived and we immediately loved them. betsy is warm and down to earth- easy to talk to and full of energy. fletch is quieter, quick witted and engaging and his eyes rarely leave betsy. we ordered fries and cocktails and spent our happy hour getting to know one of the sweetest couples ever- sometimes i forget this is a job. :)

since i was unavailable to shoot on their wedding day, matt & i were so happy to find that our friend anne was available to step in- she’s awesome. it wasn’t easy to send matt off alone that day but i was 110% confident that anne would be the perfect fit for betsy & fletch’s wedding day. thank you anne!!

i love this next set of images- betsy seeing her father for the first time. the emotion on both of their faces is such a testament to their relationship- such a sweet moment to capture. :)

a beautiful close shot matt took during portraits- this is one of my favorites:

betsy & fletch, we are so, so happy for you two! thank you for including us in your day- we’re so glad we got to know you! we wish you the best!
