leanne & ed are engaged!

when we first met with leanne and ed about shooting their wedding in may, they made one thing very clear: they strongly dislike having their pictures taken. to quote leanne, “we’ve been together almost 2 years and have a total of two pictures of us together to put on our wedding website!” that being said, invitations were going out saturday and it was time to bite the bullet and grab some good shots before guests start visiting their site! we met up with leanne and ed sunday evening at front page news. they enjoy meeting there for lunch during the week so we thought it’d be a sweet place to start their engagement shoot. to their own surprise, they quickly learned to ignore the cameras and we had a couple hours of laughter and fun (and only a slight run-in with semi law-enforcement ;))! we’re so proud of you guys!!

i’m so glad you could use these to pretty up your wedding website! we’re looking forward to may!

ps, please check out andrea and nathan’s rainy amazing new gallery on the website!

our amazing clients continue to surprise us with their willingness to power through tough weather! friday night after we checked saturday’s weather (unrelenting rain all day!), matt and i started pouring (hah!) over our calendars looking for a time when we could reschedule saturday’s engagement shoot. we’d come up with a few dates when we got a call from andrea letting us know that shooting in the rain sounded like a fun and different engagement session and she was up for sticking to the original plan! matt and i were actually pretty excited, we’d never shot in the rain and we immediately had plans for using it to our advantage. we met up with andrea and nathan on the riverwalk in downtown augusta. armed with umbrellas, these two really were up for anything, and we started shooting rainfall and all! here are a few of our favorites from our rain date:

thank you guys so much for an awesome shoot in the rain! you guys are great sports; it was so fun getting to know you as a couple. we’re really looking forward to the big day!!

yippee!

i cannot help but love this time of year best (watch for it, i’ll probably say that when fall rolls around too. ;)). matt and i love being outside and whether we’re hiking, napping, swimming, or eating, spring just makes every outdoor experience perfect! i have a habit (and i think i’m not alone here) of associating music and foods with seasons. during the winter i rarely listen to jimmy eat world or eat chicken salad, and when spring rolls around i am quick to retire the decemberists and homemade bread.

although my ‘spring associations’ list could go on for days, my favorite association comes with fond memories, matt’s old motorcycle. it was vintage (old ;)), rather small, pumpkin orange, and glorious. we were dating pretty seriously when (to my parents dismay) matt called to let me know he was suddenly interested in old motorcycles. the conversation quickly cleared up that he had found ‘the’ bike, and was actually on his way to look at it (which really meant purchase it). matt doesn’t do things half way; he researched his bike, fixed it up, got insurance, and bought 2 helmuts in no time. i must say, his dedication to this new sudden interest was astounding and though the bike scared me a little i was ready to enter into this fun (?) with him. matt pushed me past my fear by slowly driving up and down an old parking deck before we hit downtown atlanta spring ’06.

the bike was a short lived investment (i think it actually turned into part of the pretty diamond ring i got soon after :)) but we really had a great time driving all over athens and atlanta, parking in front of exactly where we wanted to go, and enjoying the city in a whole new way. this is my fondest memory of spring, so for old time’s sake here’s a video matt and i made while motoring around atlanta:
