i know you’ve all been waiting (oh so patiently!) for more of laura & matt’s beautiful wedding. i am so happy to let you know that their gallery is officially up! check it out:

we’re home! after a bit of a delay in detroit we made it back to the atl safe and sound. now that we are fatter, well rested and bronzed it is time to dive head first into catching up with our clients. it was really exciting to come home and see that even while we were gone you left us sweet comments (you know how i love comments), we really felt loved! oh also we were surprised by the number of messages we got from twitter saying we had new followers, thanks everyone! if you’re not already following us (and you have any interest in our personal lives, haha) check me out here and matt here, we’d love to be in touch! without further adieu, a few vacation shots! this first two are as close to ‘couple shots’ as we got the whole time:

we all took turns sailing or motoring around lake michigan, it’s so beautiful and clear and crisp:

we all took turns cooking and cleaning, this is a shot from my brother’s night. i’m pretty sure he’s squeezing a lemon into the green beans he’s sautéing right here. dan doesn’t even like green beans; if it had been up to him his veggie would have been potato chips, but mom insisted we give healthy a shot:

we spent a lot of time relaxing with books and i realized that reading is something i need to make more time for in my normal life. starting now. here’s my dad, leading by example :)

armed with sweatshirts and beverage we made our way to the beach to watch the sunset every night:

michigan grows the most incredible blueberries i’ve ever seen or tasted. they are sweet and juicy and the size of red grapes…big ones. we brought home two pounds which may last us a week, at best. photog nerds keep reading: matt taught me the homemade macro technique on this trip. it had always seemed like it was a lot of trouble but really you just take your 50mm, flip it around, hold open the aperture and move in and out to focus. ta-da!

well friends, i better get back to my inbox. to those of you that have emailed: thank you so much for your patience- you’ll be hearing from us soon! ahhh, it’s good to be back! ;)

just saying hi!

first of all, please check out the serious eye candy that is vanessa and hart’s new gallery!

so vacation rocks but man did we pick a big week to be out of touch! so much is happening, i can barely get internet but the little beeps on the iphone suggest we have mounds of goodness to catch up on when we return! i do want to take a sec and share something i’m very excited about. our good friends over at elizabeth anne designs have launched a new resource for brides called the ead library- it’s amazing! the site is so comprehensive and the quality and amount of vendors on there is incredible. i highly recommend checking it out:

i want to leave you with a small taste of our vacation. the other day we walked down to what’s known as ‘the sugar bowl’ which is really just a massive sand dune. dad and his friends used to tear down it and rarely could they make it to the bottom without wiping out. i guess matt thought he could but he was wrong: ;)

…and we’re off!

jessica & earl are engaged!

note: right now we are on vacation in a timeless little beach community on lake michigan. my dad used to spend his summers up here and since then nothing much has changed (including technology, i guess that’s a good thing…). we miss you all and beacuse we don’t want you to forget us ( :( ) we’ve got a few posts lined up to post while we’re away. love!

in may, we met jessica and earl for some quality pizza and even better conversation. we found out quickly we share a love of strange pizza flavors, motorcycling (though we are retired…i think), personal finance and of course- marriage! as these high school sweethearts told us their story we learned that earl was actually on leave from the air force for just three more days. we really felt special that they had taken some of their precious time together to hang out with us! we really fell in love with them and were happy to drop everything to squeeze in an engagement session before his leave ended but we did let them know it would be a while before we were able to take time to edit the images. it was great to squeeze it in while it was nice weather and i’m so excited to share their images with you now:

jessica & earl, thank you guys for being so generous with your precious time together! we had a great time getting to know you guys and we are so excited for you guys to be married. can’t wait for your wedding! :)
