thanks to my grandmother’s help our lovely orchid just might make it despite my lack of even a slightly greenish thumb. thank goodness! i was starting to get a little stressed out by the thought that i can’t keep a plant alive because really a plant is practice for one day getting the puppy i want so badly…you see where the stress comes from?! i’m admiring our beautiful orchid right now; the sun is coming through the big white petals and the bright freckled centers really are glowing, it’s beautiful. in fact, here are a couple images i grabbed for you:

i will also introduce you to my latest kitchen experiment, preserved lemons with peppercorns. not sure how this one’s going to go but i needed to start using my overabundance of empty pickle jars for something! maybe i should stick to storing my old costume jewelry in them, we’ll see. for now, the lemons, day 1 of 14 in the preservation stage. hopefully i’ll be able to pull together some chic moroccan tapas in the near future. wish me luck!

ok, it’s back to work for me. matt actually just cooked something up for us so i think i’ll go enjoy that first, he’s the man. can’t wait to be in touch with you all this week, we’ve got so much to show you! see you soon!

Seriously, you are my role model. You think I’m kidding, but I’m not. You make me nervous that I’m going to be a really terrible wife. I don’t even know what you DO with preserved lemons.

  • katealtmix says:

dan, we’ll pay you to do it lil bro…but we may not be able to pay you in actual money…so maybe you’ll accept…lemons?

katie, the key to my style of wifehood is…google. now, what is the secret to your fabulous writing…how can i be like you?!

  • katealtmix says:

oh ps, matt, thanks. no one knew that was our dirty window…it looks like a nice abstract texture…but now everyone is judging us…

  • Katie says:

It’s outside dirt. That makes it ok. And natural. And artsy.

Hehehe… I’m an orchid lover too! Have a few species blooming at my condominium balcony as I’m typing! Good luck to you!
